I’ve been a bit lax about posting because I’m back working full time. Well, four days a week at the local council, and the fifth at home with the munchkins. It’s a shock to the system, that’s for sure! It’s the first time this year I haven’t had at least one day free during the week. I was so exhausted by the time we all made it to Friday night.
Princess went off to R1 and R2 from friday night until early this morning (sunday). We went off to finally buy the 4th season of the L. W.ord (it really sucks that the fifth season is finished and the fourth has only just became available to us!). So then we climbed into bed with the portable DVD player and some sweet goodies and stayed there until Sunday morning! The only time we surfaced on Saturday at all was to use the bathroom (far too frequently these days!) and to prepare food in the kitchen that we then brought back to the bed. Was an absolutely lovely day and night – was about 34 hours all up! Needless to say, we’re loving the new mattress.
This morning we picked up Princess at the crack of dawn (it was 8:30 but felt really early!) so we could take her to her tae kwon do grading – hopefully she managed to grade to junior black belt! She did really well, and even had a chance to beat up the head instructor when drilling self defence moves with him. It’s really funny to see our little Princess stand up to and pull down such a big guy.
It’s kind of reassuring for us that she knows that just because someone is bigger than her, it doesn’t mean that she is powerless.
After that we came home and cooked a big lunch – roast chicken as requested by Princess – so that she was all fed up before being whisked away for the week by her grandparents. Who then proceeded to turn up just before lunch was ready. Luckily we were able to stretch it out and feed everyone a great lunch. So now they’ve all left and Princess won’t be back until NEXT Sunday! A whole week – I’m really going to miss her. But she’s going to have a wonderful time being spoiled by all of her various grandparents (Nanny S and Nanny E will do a swap over some time during the week). At least I’ll be at work every day so won’t be at home pining for her…
Now it’s time for play – Lazyboo is happily replaying an old Sp.yro game on the PS, and I’m about to drag something out to play too. It’s weird and liberating to not have to entertain a child and get ready for a week of school on a Sunday afternoon. Of course we’re continuing to completely ignore the stacks of papers that are spread around our house that really need to be dealt with….
In weany beany news, he’s continuing to do gymnastics all day and night, and apparently will be opening his eyes this week! Nanny S brought over the bassinet for him (it’s the one that I slept in, and Princess too). We have acquired and built his bookcase so his room has pretty much everything now. 25 weeks… only 15 (ish) to go. That’s quite hard to believe…. I’m feeling really well and not having any nasty symptoms (save the exhaustion) and am kind of feeling glad to only have a small belly when reading about all the common ill effects of getting bigger that I haven’t got to yet.

She’s adorable (and TOUGH!). I love it!
